6 Things You Can Do To Grow From Failure
There’s an art form to failing and I’m here to help you find it.
Back in October of 2013, inspired by Marina Shifrin quitting her job by way of interpretative dance in an unforgettable YouTube, I wrote an article in Forbes, “6 Things You Should Quit Doing To Be More Successful.”
It made sense to do so, given how expert I was in dishing out success nuggets. I had just won the corporate-coveted 40-Under-40 award the year before, which I lovingly displayed next to my internationally-legit Gold Quill Award from the International Association of Business Communicators (real talk, I do actually still love this award the most because it was such a big deal for me in my young career) a few years prior.
I was going big. And by that I mean, I could see the rungs on that mahogany ladder of deliciously corporate existence.
I grabbed the ten years of life and job experience and tossed it into what became a viral column on its own via my Forbes blog, where I contributed somewhere around 70 articles and generated more than 13 million views, or something like that. I counted the total once, but it was my journey to success, and portions of the wisdom in the article I’m referencing, that led me to change how I approach nearly everything today.
